People are powerful helpers of other people as they develop Godly character, spiritual discernment, and Christ-like compassion, whether through training or life experiences. We were built for “connection”, with God and with others; and the root of our personal and community problems is “disconnection.” Since we are “disconnected souls”, healing will take place only through “connection in community” - a “faith based community.” The work of healing belongs to the community of faith, with professional counselors offering help in developing “true connections.” Because we believe that our personal and community problems have more to do with how we relate to others than with a damaged sense of self that needs therapeutic repair, we focus our philosophy of care toward the healing potential of true community.
